Grocery Chilimba
Grocery Chilimba takes the chilimba you already know into the Bevura app. Admins set the group rules — the contribution per window, whether members can borrow, and the penalties for missing a payment. Members join with the group code, choose how many slots they hold, and pay each window from their wallet. When the group ends, the admins nominate who receives the balance, and every member can still see the full history.

Frequently asked questions
What is a slot?
A slot is one full contribution every window. Hold two slots and you pay twice the window amount. An admin fixes your slot count when they approve you, and it cannot change once the group has its first transaction.
Who decides where the money goes?
The admins. A group needs at least two admins to operate, and disbursing a loan or closing the group needs the number of admin approvals the group set, so no single admin can move the funds alone. On closing, the whole balance is paid to one or two active members they nominate.
Can members borrow from the group?
If the group allows it. Admins choose whether loans are on, how much a member can borrow against what they have saved, and the interest. You repay one loan before requesting another.
What happens if someone misses a payment?
The group can charge a penalty when a member skips a contribution window, and another when a loan falls overdue. Loans or penalties still unpaid when the group closes must be recovered outside Bevura.
Is Grocery Chilimba regulated?
Yes — like every Bevura feature, it operates under Bank of Zambia licence 06/PSB/2024 held by Yafika Mobile Money Limited.
